Matthew 25:31-40 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory. Then
the king will say to those at his right hand, ‘Come, you that are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the
foundation of the world; for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you
welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.’ Then the
righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry and gave you food, or thirsty and gave you something to drink? And
when was it that we saw you a stranger and welcomed you, or naked and gave you clothing? And when was it that we saw you sick or in
prison and visited you?’ And the king will answer them, ‘Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members
of my family, you did it to me.’
Since 1994, AUMC’s Food Share ministry has provided food to senior citizens and their families in our community
each month. Metrocrest Services (http://www.metrocrestservices.org/) provides Food Share with names of people
in greatest need and we deliver groceries directly to their homes every month. Church members and volunteers
meet at the church at 8:30am one Saturday a month to help sort and deliver food rain or shine. Everyone is
welcome to participate! Contact Debbie & Randy Fast with any questions.
Did you know that Food Share is Aldersgate’s longest running mission and continues to be passionately supported
by our church? For a long time, Food Share delivered groceries to 20 families EVERY month -- now it is delivering
to 25-27 families EVERY month, an indication of continued growth and passion! That's over 300 deliveries PER YEAR! Since its inception, Food Share has made more than 6,000 grocery deliveries to senior citizens in our community!!
Food Share appreciates the donation of non-perishable items to help support this program. Collection baskets can
be found as you enter the north entry to the narthex. With your help, AUMC can greatly supplement the fresh food
items we provide to our recipients. Your donations of canned vegetables, canned meat, canned fruits, macaroni &
cheese, dry rice & beans, cereal, etc. provide more than comfort food to our families. You are also providing
comfort to them in the form of Christian fellowship, showing them that AUMC cares about each family that we serve.
Also, Food Share is grateful to the The Giving Garden (www.givinggardenofcarrollton.org) for contributing more
than 15,000 lbs. (that’s more than SEVEN WHOLE TONS!) of fresh produce in the past few years to both this ministry and Christian Community Action (www.ccahelps.org) in Lewisville.
