OUR CHURCH MISSION AND VISION
Mission: To make and grow disciples of Jesus Christ.
Vision: To provide opportunities for personal discipleship, and to invite and welcome all from the community who are seeking to know Jesus Christ.
We encourage everyone to grow in 4 main areas of discipleship: Gather, Grow, Greet & Give
CURRENT MINISTRY & THANKSGIVING
One year ago, we moved into our beautiful educational wing that was added to the building. We are thankful for this opportunity to reach out to the community.
- There are now enough classrooms for our growing church school.
- Classrooms are now part of our main building.
- Our Korean and Vietnamese congregations now hold worship services in the Fellowship Hall.
The new wing has provided additional opportunities to:
GATHER: Meeting space for us to gather for fellowship and worship activities.
GROW: Accommodations for our growing church school, youth ministry and adult programs
GREET: Space to better reach our community through our children, youth and adult programs.
GIVE: Facilities to enhance our mission and outreach ministries such as Vacation Bible School, Open Arms, Scouting, Enrichment Classes of Carrollton, Encore Kids, and Coding with Kids.
All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may
cause thanksgiving to overflow to he glory of God.
2 Corinthians 4:15 (NIV)
In 2014, Aldersgate embarked on a journey to add a permanent Education Space and Fellowship Hall to our existing facility. To pay for this new addition, the people of Aldersgate conducted a capital campaign to raise initial funds and agreed to a second capital campaign 3 years later to help pay down the debt. This expansion allowed us to significantly increase our capability to "Gather, Grow, Greet and Give", help meet the needs of our partners (Korean and Vietnamese) now and into the future, and improve our presence in the North Carrollton area. This project was completed on budget and ahead of schedule and resultd in one united church building.
What a great reason to celebrate!
From them will come songs of thanksgiving and the sound of rejoicing. I will add
to their numbers, and they will not be decreased; I will bring them honor, and they
will not be disdained.
Jeremiah 30:19 (NLT)
After considerable prayer, consultation and discussion, we have set a goal of $450,000 to be raised over 3 years. These additional funds will maintain our debt service load at a level the church can manage and honors our commitment to the Texas Methodist Foundation regarding loans for our building.
GROWING AND BUILDING
Our Beginnings: From meeting in 1991 at Kent Elementary School to worshiping in our own building in 1996, and then moving twelve years later to our current location, our church continues to grow to fulfill our mission and vision.
Phase I: In 2008, our Capital Campaign, Building a Spiritual House, enabled us to complete our beautiful sanctuary, offices for the pastor and office manager, a small kitchen, a workroom for the staff, two nursery rooms, a choir room, and a storeroom.
Phase II: In January 2014, our Capital Campaign, Arise and Build: Uniting to Gather, Grow, Greet, and Give, will allowed us to complete the educational wing with rooms for our church school, youth and children's ministries, and additional meeting space, as well as a new vestibule and Fellowship Hall. The Education Wing was dedicated in August 2016.
Celebration Campaign Time Line:

This capital campaign offers us an opportunity to build upon our past success, grow to the future needs of our community and unite us to make and grow disciples of Jesus Christ.
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and
of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.
And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV)
