The vision that fuels our work in Children’s Ministries grows out of Jesus’ words in Mark 10:14,
“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.”
In the midst of a consuming ministry to adults, Jesus regularly ministered to children. We believe the future of the church depends on effective ministry to children today. Our Children's Ministry staff is committed to fulfilling Jesus' teachings.

Children's Bible Discovery Hour - Sundays 10am-11am
Our Bible Discovery Hour classes begin when a child has celebrated his/her 3rd birthday by September 1st of the current year. The children meet in age appropriate classes with trained volunteer teachers. Aldersgate uses a United Methodist curriculum, Bible Basics.

Our nursery is available during both worship services and during the Sunday School hour. Nursery care is provided for children up to 4 years of age. The nursery is also available during our Wednesday activities, and during special events throughout the year. Our nursery is staffed by nurturing, caring employees.
The K.O.O.L. (Kids of Our Lord) Club meets on Sunday evenings at 6 p.m. for a time of fellowship and fun. This group is for children in 3rd through 5th grades.
The Joyful Voices is our children’s choir made up of 3rd-5th graders. The children and their director meet each Sunday evening, beginning at 5:30 p.m. and sing their praises during worship services throughout the year.
This program is for children in 4th through 6th grades who wish to be trained and participate in the worship service as acolytes, lighting candles and assisting with other parts of the service.
Aldersgate’s Little Praisers is for 3 year olds through 2nd Grade. Children who attend the 11:00 worship service are dismissed after the Children's Message, and gather in a classroom for age-appropriate songs, prayers, and short lessons. The Little Praisers are led by adult volunteers and youth helpers.
Boy Scout Troop 753, hosted by Aldersgate UMC, is open to all boys in the community. Begun in the spring of 1998, the troop offers opportunities for camping, community involvement and leadership training in a nurturing environment. The troop meets every Monday night at 6:30 p.m. The age level for the troop is 10 1/2 or 6th grade. For more information about Troop 753, visit www.troop753.org/.
American Heritage Girls / Trail Life USA
Aldersgate UMC hosts two faith-based scouting groups -
American Heritage Girls & Trail Life USA. Although two independent organizations, the 2 groups operate as a family troop and meet at
he same time and location – on the 2nd and 4th Friday evenings from 5pm-6:30pm from September to early May. The troops focus on teaching life skills, character/spiritual development, and outdoor fun.
Both troops are service-oriented/community-minded and volunteer
egularly in our local Carrollton community.
American Heritage Girls is open to girls Kinder-8th grade. Trail Life is open to boys Kinder-5th grade. Both troops will continue to add a grade every year until we reach K-12th grade levels.

Encore Kids is a drama program that involves acting classes, theater activities and performance opportunities for children of all ages. Our curriculum includes concentration, teamwork, improvisation, movement, voice, & much more! We hold classes at local schools, centers, and other venues interested in allowing children the opportunity to grow through the performing arts. At the end of each session students have the opportunity to perform in a production!

Enrichment Classes of Carrollton (ECC)
Enrichment Classes of Carrollton(ECC) is a Christian, non profit, cooperative offering a diversity of academic and enrichment classes for homeschooling families. Our goal is to serve families and be a place where families can give of their gifts and talents to others in the homeschool community.â€‹
Set Up, Clean Up, Teach, Co-Teach, Administrative duties.Classes are held 10 weeks in the fall and 10 weeks in the spring. We meet from 8:40 am 2:45 pm. Participation in one of the following ways is required:

Easter Egg Hunt
Children's Council and Aldersgate United Methodist Women sponsor an annual Easter Egg Hunt, craft time and bake sale for the children. Click here to learn more about this year's event.
Bible Adventure Week (VBS)
Bible Adventure Week is held at Aldersgate for one week each summer. Click here to learn more about this year's Bible Adventure program.
Back to School Sunday
Join us as we celebrate the end of the summer with Back to School Sunday. All children will be promoted to next class level on this Sunday and we have a Backpack Blessing for all.
Bibles are presented to all children entering the 3rd grade and all members are encouraged to bring their own Bibles. Reserve a Bible for your 3rd grader by contacting Cindy Carlisle
Trunk or Treat
Join us for this safe trick-or-treating experience where Aldersgate members decorate their trunks for Halloween and hand out goodies to all who come to visit. We also have a Bounce House and carnival games for kids of all ages to enjoy.
The Spirit of Christmas
The Spirit of Christmas event is held in early December. The event includes pictures with Santa along with a pancake breakfast and Advent craft projects. This event is free but we need you to register HERE to help us plan for this event. Invite your friends and join us for the morning as we prepare for the birth of our Lord.
Each year the children of Aldersgate, led by our Joyful Voices choir, display their talent to God's glory in a Christmas pageant. The program is usually on a Sunday evening in December.
Parents Night Out
Aldersgate hosts a Parents Night Out event several times a year where kids can come eat pizza, watch a movie, do crafts and play games while parents get a night to themselves.
The Children's Council meets monthly to support programs for the children of Aldersgate and is chaired by Cindy Carlisle.
